Former Super Eagles coach Sunday Oliseh is impressed with the "tactical improvement" Kelechi Iheanacho has gained under Pep Guardiola at Manchester City.

Iheanacho got the nod to lead Manchester City's attack in Saturday's Manchester derby at Old Trafford in the absence of the suspended Sergio Aguero.

The Nigerian youngster did not disappoint.

First, the 19 year old provided an assist with a flicked header for Kevin De Bruyne who scored City's opening goal.

Iheanacho then made it 2-0 in the 36th minute with an easy tap-in to become the first Nigerian to score in the Manchester derby to the delight of his former national team coach.

Oliseh wrote on Twitter after the match: "Iheanacho's tactical improvement in a short time under Guardiola is impressive and I am liking it!"

  • @darey what is your own with Oliseh. Did you follow the gist on why Oliseh left the Eagles job? I don't think so? Do you think it is a common thing you see everyday in Nigeria to walk away from a #500000 job? Maybe you don't know the answers to these questions. I will tell you. His salary was not paid, even those of his assistants. The NFF are known to disrespect Nigerian referees but they respect the Oyibos. Inferiority complex and these oyibos will show them pepper by demanding for every $ owed them, even taking them to ABS to drmand for their entitlement. You see how they treated Keshi, his assistants, even when they won the nations' cup. You see how they wanted to take the money given to them by the Japanese bizman and since they couldn't , you see how they took the #10000000 given to the team by the Akwa  Ibom govt after beating Tanzania. Have you seen now that tge NFF bully their own country citizens but when it comes to the oyibos they form mugu. Oliseh could not stomach their rubbish and quit. I tell you that if all our Nigerian coaches could be like Oliseh from long ago, the shabby treatment given Nigerian coaches would have since improved. We all say Iheanacho in the ManUManCity derby, he was coached well and his present coach should be credited for this. Oliseh only said the minds of Nigerians as well as the English and SlSpanish press. If Oliseh was wrong do you think FIFA would have still use him as a technical consultant? Do you think SuperSport would have still use his blogs and analyses? Think, my man.
