Oliseh Returns Next Week, Expects Tough Tanzania Tie

By Adeboye Amosu:

Super Eagles coach, Sunday Oliseh, will return to the country next week to begin preparations for next month’s 2017 African Cup of Nations qualifying match against the Taifa Stars of Tanzania.

Oliseh is currently in London with his assistant Jean Francois Louscuito where they are having meetings with some Nigerian players plying their trade in England.

The former Super Eagles captain assured that he is working assiduously towards picking a squad that is strong enough to pick maximum points against the Tanzanians.

“The match in Tanzania is very, very crucial, not only because it is going to be my first match as head coach, but also because we have no choice than to win,” he told NFF.com.

“The three points are important for us to keep up the tempo in the group.

“We are on the same points with Egypt, though they have scored a goal more than us.
“That is why we cannot afford any slip along the way.

“We will deal first with the match in Tanzania and then we will start thinking about the CHAN qualifiers against Burkina Faso in October, and then the FIFA World Cup qualifying fixture in November.

“After these matches, we will now start working towards the two AFCON qualifying matches we have against Egypt in March next year.”
The Super Eagles will play Tanzania at the National Stadium, Dar er Salaam on Saturday, 5 September.
