Former Nigeria captain and coach Sunday Oliseh took charge of his first competitive Fortuna Sittard game on Friday, defeating Achilles 1-0 in a second-tier Dutch league clash, reports Completesportsnigeria.com.
Gavin Vlijter scored the only goal of the encounter for Fortuna Sittard in the 58th minute in a game that saw four yellow cards issued to both teams.
The win took Oliseh’s side up to 17th on the log with 18 points from 20 games.
Fortuna Sittard will host 15th-placed Telstar in their next league fixture on the 20th of January at the 12,500-capacity Fortuna Sittard Stadium.
Meanwhile, Oliseh’s side also got a major boost ahead of their next game with the arrival of Sjoerd Ars from Hungarian club Haladás until the end of the season.
