Former Super Eagles midfielder Seyi Olofinjana is confident the U-23 Eagles will get better in their remaining games of the CAF U-23 Cup of Nations.
Nigeria held Algeria to a scoreless draw on Saturday evening to set up a semi-finals clash against Group A leaders and tournament hosts Senegal.
Olofinjana spoke to Completesportsnigeria.com on the team’s run in Senegal.
“The most important thing is that the team got to the semi-finals of the tournament,” he said. “That means they’re either going to play in the final or third-place match.
“Nigerians may have their reservations about the performance but the coaches would have seen the mistakes made in the first round.
“I believe they will get better. It will not be easy matches but let’s appreciate the fact that they have reached the knock-out stages.”
South Africa will face Algeria in the second semi-finals game.Copyright © 2020 Completesports.com All rights reserved. The information contained in Completesports.com may not be published, broadcast, rewritten, or redistributed without the prior written authority of Completesports.com.
