–Eagles defender eager to face Iran
Chelsea defender Kenneth Omeruo has said he is delighted to return to full squad training with Nigeria at the World Cup in Brazil.
The highly-rated central defender has not trained with the main group after he suffered an ankle injury in training in the United States of America last week.
The injury kept him of the 2-1 loss to the United States of America and malaria also sidelined him from the 2-2 draw with Scotland in London earlier this month.
“Kenneth is happy to be back training with the rest of the squad,” the player’s adviser Chika Akujobi informed AfricanFootball.com
“He said he felt no pains all through the training.”
It is now left to be seen if coach Stephen Keshi will start Omeruo in the heart of the defence on Monday night in Nigeria’s opening Group F match against Iran in Curitiba.
The player only recently extended his contract at Chelsea for three more years.
