Super Eagles defender, Kenneth Omeruo has expressed delight at his swift comeback from injury having stared for his Championship side, Middlesbrough on Tuesday night.
The 21-year-old defender sustained a groin injury while on international duty with Nigeria in the 1-1 draw against South Africa in Nelspruit and there were initial fears he could be out for the season.
However, Omeruo rejoined his Middlesbrough teammates in training at the Rockliffe Park ahead of last Friday’s clash against Wigan Athletic at the Riverside stadium.
While he did not make the cut for the game against the Latics, the on-loan Chelsea star was given the opportunity to feature in Tuesday night’s 2-1 win over Wolverhampton when he replaced Jonathan Woodgate in the 62nd minute.
“Feels great being back and fit. Great win yesterday (Tuesday) thanks to the support from the #borofc fans”, Omeruo wrote on his Instagram page on Wednesday.
With the latest win, Boro remain a couple of points off the top of the table but are firmly on course for promotion into the elite division next season.
