Omeruo: I’ll Prove My Class For Super Eagles In Algeria, Argentina Games

By Johnny Edward:
Kasimpasa defender Kenneth Omeruo hopes he can impress Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr by proving his class for Nigeria when they take on Algeria in Friday’s 2018 World Cup qualifier in Constantine and against Argentina in a friendly in Krasnodar, Russia, Completesportsnigeria.com reports.

Omeruo was initially placed on standby for the two games but got included in the main squad after an injury to Ogenyi Onazi.

The Chelsea loanee concedes that his late transfer to Kasimpasa at the summer cost him his place in the Nigeria team but he is happy to be back to prove himself again in the team.

“If I’m honest, I thought not being settled during the summer denied me a chance in the Eagles and the boys were doing well,” Omeruo told Completesportsnigeria.com.

“At the back of my mind I thought the main reason was because I was not playing regularly and now I have joined Kasimpasa and I’m a regular there so I have a chance now to prove my class again and I will take it.”

Omeruo last played for Nigeria in March in a friendly game against Senegal but was an unused substitute in Nigeria’s 2-0 defeat to South Africa in Uyo in June.

  • I wish him well

  • Do that on the bench bro……

  • Running to the turkish league every season have stunted your career progression. Making it to the teams bench in 2018 worldcup will be an achievement

Running back to the turkish league every season have done your once promising career no good. With the look of things making it to russia 2018 as a team member will be a herculian task for you bacise currently i doubt his you can dislodge any of balogun and ekong to a starters shirt. Rohr seem to have lost faith in you and his grooming awaziem who has been one of the top defenders in ligue 1 this season as a capable backup to the aforementioned duo. Rumours has it that the likes of hoffenheim’s ex german u20 skipper kevin akpoguma, hertha berlin’s jordon torunarigha and russian born brian idowu are likely pledge their international future to nigeria and if that happens i urge you to forget about the national team.

  • I watched his last 3 Games in Turkey Omeruo if you stay like this you will walk back into Chelsea no problems. you are surely a class player judging by those performances I have no doubt you will prove that Ekong and Balogun have competition now with you in this form. Don’t let anyone tell you otherwise starboy.

Keep it up my brother. Dont be afraid of Ekong and Balogun. Balogun is very good but remember he is around 30 years old now and his career is gradually winding up. You are still young and can still make it. The other boys from Germany may be young but if u work hard and remain consistent, u can dislodge them God willing. You have been a regular for Nigeria before, and u can still do it again, May God assist you dear.

  • Ogbeni relax first.. tell Echiegile too to relax… no time for xperiment.. i used to trusted u broke my heart like twice..
