Exclusive by Johnny Edward:

Super Eagles defender, Kenneth Omeruo, has ruled out a move to Greece amid talks of a fifth loan spell away from Chelsea this season, Completesportsnigeria.com reports.

Two unnamed top Greek sides have reportedly made enquiries about his availability this summer from Chelsea.

The Nigerian defender who is currently with Chelsea for pre-season had loan spells at Ado Den Haag, Middlesbrough, Kasimpasa and Alanyspor however refused to rule out a return to the Turkish Super lig where he has featured in the past two seasons if the right offer comes once again.

The 23 year old AFCON winner reveals in an exclusive chat with Completesportsnigeria.com that he would stay at Chelsea only if regular playing time is guaranteed.

"I really can't say for now if I will be going back to Turkey, but definitely Greece is out of it," Omeruo begins in an exclusive chat with Completesportsnigeria.com.

"There's a chance for me to stay, but I don't fancy a bench role.

"The world Cup is one year away and I must be playing regularly to feature in the Nigeria squad."

Omeruo also applauds the influx of Nigerian players in Turkey this summer, admitting that the league is also competitive just as the other top European leagues.

11 Nigerian internationals will represent various teams in the Turkish Super Lig next season. They include Elderson Echiejile, Ogenyi Onazi, Sunday Mba, Azubuike Okechukwu Amutu, Sincere Seth, Aminu Umar, Raheem Lawal, Emem Eduok, Imoh Ezekiel and William Troost-Ekong.

"I love playing in Turkey and I know most of our players moving to the Turkish League will enjoy it," he states.

"People might criticize their move to Turkey,  but believe me, playing regularly in a decent league like the Turkish Super League will help such players individually and the senior national team."

Omeruo helped newly promoted Alanyaspor to a 12th place finish in the Turkish Super League last season, making 26 league appearances scoring once.

The former Nigeria U-17 and U-20 team star also prays Carl Ikeme recovers fully from his leukamia ailment.

The 31 year old goalkeeper was diagnosed of leukamia following tests run by the club last week at the start of pre-season, and Omeruo admits he will be sorely missed in the crucial 2018 World Cup double header against Cameroon on August 28   and September 2.

"Carl is greatly missed already , and I'm confident he will be back stronger."

"I spoke to him two days ago and he is very strong and optimistic. All Nigerians need to pray for him and by God's grace he will be healed."
