Onazi Scores As Trabzonspor Sweep Aside Azubuike’s Malatyaspor

Super Eagles midfielder Ogenyi Onazi was on target for Trabzonspor who defeated Yeni Malatyaspor 4-1 in the Turkish Super Lig (first division) on Sunday.


In action for Malatyaspor was Nigeria midfielder Azubuike Okechukwu who played for 90 minutes.

Onazi wrapped up the score when he netted in the 86th minute to make it 4-1.

Other scorers for Trabzonspor were Burak Yilmaz (24th minute) and a brace from Yusuf Yazici (64th, 66th minutes).

The win took Trabzonspor to fifth on 42 points, six points adrift of the UEFA Europa League qualification spot occupied by Fenerbahce in fourth.

Onazi, who is in the Super Eagles squad for the friendly matches against Poland and Serbia later this month, has now scored two goals in 18 league appearances for Trabzonspor this season.

It is also his third goal in all competitions so far in the current campaign.
