Super Eagles midfielder Ogenyi Onazi helped Lazio seal the last Champions League spot on Sunday night.
The Nigerian scored one of the goals in the Rome side's 4-2 away win against Napoli, which meant Lazio finished above their opponents in the Serie A table and beat Rafa Benitez and his men to the final Italian Champions League slot.
Onazi who came on in the 84th minute for Danilo Cataldi, scored one minute later to put Lazio 3-2 up before Miroslav Klose put the game to bed in two minutes of added time.
The goal was Onazi's first of the season in 16 appearances for the Rome-base team.
With the win, Lazio join Serie A champions Juventus and second placed Roma in next season's UEFA Champions League.
Onazi is expected to be in Nigeria this week in readiness for the 2017 AFCON qualifier against Chad in Kaduna.
