Super Eagles vice captain, Ogenyi Onazi is poised make his 55th league appearance for Trabzonspor when they face Sivasspor in a Turkish Super Lig game on Friday, Completesportsnigeria.com reports.
Onazi who has made 47 league starts for Trabzonspor since he joined three years ago is targeting a win in the enconuter after they lost their opening league game away to Istanbul Basaksehir last Sunday.
“Looking forward to the game and I hope we get a win which is the most importnat thing,” Onazi told CSN.
“We didn’t deserve to loose the firstgame, now we have to make amends on Friday.”
The 25 year old midfielder has scored four goals so far and provided four assists since he made his debut for the club against Kasimpasa. Onazi, a former Lazio midfielder scored twice in that encounter to hand Trabzonspor a 2-0 win in the encounter.
Trabzonspor are one of the nine Turkish league teams without a win from their opening league fixtures last weekend.
He was an unused substitute for Nigeria at the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia, and is expected to return to the Super Eagles fold for next month’s Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Seychelles.
