Super Eagles midfielder Ogenyi Onazi has extended his heartfelt sympathy and get-well wishes to fellow Eagles star, Osaze Odemwingie, who suffered a knee injury last weekend in Stoke City’s 1-0 win over Manchester City.
Odemwingie took to Twitter on Monday to confirm that he will be out of the game for a considerable period after a surgery confirmed it.
Onazi who himself was a victim of a nasty ankle injury in Nigeria’s Round of 16 World Cup defeat to France this summer in Brazil when PSG’s Blaise Matuidi lunged into him, was however light-hearted in his support for Odemwingie on Twitter.
Showing his sense of humour, the Lazio schemer tweeted:
“I wish my bro @OdemwingieP a speedy recovery from the unfortunate Higi-Haga (refering to Odemwingie’s injury) he suffered on his quest for a superlative Crincum-Crancum!” (cross that could eventually lead to a Stoke City’s goal).
Onazi has since recovered from the injury setback from the World Cup.
Odemwingie was not invited for Nigeria’s double 2015 African Cup of Nations qualifiers against Congo and South Africa, but Onazi is in the team for the games.
