–On how to manage Super Eagles big stars
Chief Adegboye Onigbinde has revealed his readiness to offer his professional and technical advice to Super Eagles manager, Stephen Keshi in an attempt to get the best out of the big stars.
Onigbinde, a former Super Eagles coach who led the team to win silver medal at the 1984 Africa Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast and a former FIFA/CAF Technical instructor further added that he will do so based on his personal close relationship with the onetime Hawks of Togo and Mali national teams handler.
“Keshi is relatively close to me, if he needs any advice, we talk occasionally but I just think that you really need to be close to a team before you can talk accurately”, Onigbinde said.
“Of course, I can do that if that will help get the best out of the team for Nigeria”, the Modakeke High Chief stressed.
Onigbinde emphasized that the media can sometimes be critical when it comes to the subject of players, pointing out that several senior Super Eagles players have not been part of the national team under Stephen Keshi due to several reasons ranging from indiscipline to poor form.
“It happens but it all depends on how you manage such situations”, the former Shooting Stars Sports Club, 3SC of Ibadan manager told footballlive.ng.
