Onigbinde Welcomes Eagles Vs Bolivia Match

–Hails Eaglets on Niger win, wants U-17 team win CAF trophy
By Sab Osuji:

Former Super Eagles handler, Chief Adegboye Onigbinde has voiced his appreciation of the grade A international friendly match which NFF has arranged between Super Eagles and Bolivia.

The senior national team was earlier billed to clash with five time world champions, Brazilon March 26 in Uyo, but the Selecao opted out of the arrangement, preferring to trade tackles with Chile at the Emirates Stadium in London and later against France in Paris on March 29.

Onigbinde said Bolivia is a good replacement but insisted the Super Eagles will get a good test from the South Americans especially if indeed it was the technical crew that requested for the game.

“I think it’s a good alternative. You know coaches play games, especially friendly matches to assess their teams”, begins Onigbinde.

“In doing so, they have specific reasons, technically I mean, for playing such games. So I believe Super Eagles playing Bolivia and later Ghana is good especially if it was at the request of the coaching crew.”

Onigbinde also hauled encomiums on Nigeria’s Golden Eaglets who on Sunday thrashed hosts Niger Republic 2-0 in the opening match of this year’s CAF U-17 Championship in Niamey.
“It was a good start for the youngsters, winning their opening match, especially against the host team, is a massive encouragement to push harder in the competition.

“I’ve been and will continue to be a patriotic Nigerian. In that light, I will continue to pray for the team and expect them to qualify for the next stage and to further win the Championship and bring the trophy home to our dear country, Nigeria”.
