–Ex-Eagles gaffer reveals support for Enyeama to win CAF award
Former Nigeria coach, Chief Adegboye Onigbinde has revealed why he strongly wished Vincent Enyeama to win the 2014 Glo/CAF African footballer of the Year Award.
Onigbinde who has never hidden his confidence in Enyeama said it will be a vindication of his age long dream that Enyeama is a top class goalkeeper.
“It would be a glorious moment for me. When I recall what I passed through in 2002 when I decided to hand him his first World Cup starting team shirt against England djring the Korea/Japan 2002 FIFA World Cup finals.
“I saw the talent and quality in him and I knew then he has a very bright future. Yet I was called all sorts of names and even accused of having compromised the game which was our last group match.
“His performance since then has gone to prove me right and I feel it will be a crowning glory for not only him but myself inclusive if Enyeama wins the 2014 Glo/CAF African Player of the Year award” , Onigbinde said.
He insisted that Enyeama has what it takes to snatch the award, saying that he was outstanding in between the sticks for his French club, Lille, last year.
