Nigeria midfielder, Paul Onobi, has refused to give up on his Finnish club, Kuopion Palloseura winning the Veikkausliga title despite trailing leaders HJK Helsinki who have Nigerian duo of Taye Taiwo and Nnamdi Oduamadi in their squad, by seven points, reports Completesportsnigeria.com.
KuPs sit in fifth position in the table with six games remaining before the end of the campaign.
The Canaries will host Illves at Savon Sanomat Areena in their next fixture on Wednesday.
Onobi, the former sunshine Stars player told Completesportsnigeria.com that a win in the game will help his side push for the title with HJK having played a game more outstanding games.
"There is still a lot to play for and we still believe we can catch up with HJK and win the title at the end of the season," the former Enyimba player informed Completesportsnigeria.com.
"They have played one game than us and if we win our match against Illves on Wednesday, we will reduce the gap to four points.
"So, the title is still within our grasps and we are going to fight hard to achieve our objective."
Aside Onobi, KuPs also parade two other Nigerians; Gbolahan Salami who is the team's leading scorer with 11 goals and centre- back, Azubuike Egwueke.
