Nigeria midfielder Paul Onobi is thrilled with his move to Saudi Arabian First Division club, Al Najoom, Completesportsnigeria.com reports.
Onobi, who penned a one-year deal with Al Najoom is the second Nigerian to join Saudi First Division club following goalkeeper Okiemute Odah’s arrival at Jeddah FC.
“I am very happy with this move, it is a big chance for me to revive my career and I am ready to work very hard to make the best use of it,” Onobi told CSN.
It is second time the 25-year-old will be featuring for a club outside Nigeria after a one-year stint with Finnish side, KuPs.
“I have confidence in him that he would do well because he is a good player, the League in Saudi Arabia is quite big as you can see that top stars from across the world are coming there including our own Ahmed Musa” Yeku Kayode Gbolahan, CEO of Millaworld Football Management who helped brokered the deal told CSN.
The former Sunshine Stars player will look to make his debut for Al Najoom on the opening day of the season against Al Orubah next week Tuesday.
Onobi was part of the Nigeria’s home-based side to the 2016 African Nations Championship in Rwanda.
