By James Agberebi: Nigeria forward, Henry Onyekuru, has promised to comeback stronger after suffering a knee injury in Anderlecht’s 1-0 home win against his former club Eupen in the Belgian top flight on Friday, Completesportsnigeria.com report’s.
Onyekuru got injured late in Friday’s game and was stretchered off and will undergo surgery.
But despite the setback, Onyekuru expressed his determination to overcome the predicament.
“What a great year it has been for me, thank you to everyone that has supported me, especially the Almighty God.
“I hope to return to fitness soon and will be back fitter and stronger in the new year,” the Anderlecht loanee striker from Everton tweeted on his Twitter handle.
Onyekuru, 20, has scored nine goals in 19 league appearances and 10 goals in 28 games in all competitions for Anderlecht this season.
Friday night’s win kept Anderlecht in third place in the Belgian first division league table with 37 points from 20 matches, 13 points adrift of leaders Club Brugge.
