Super Eagles forward, Henry Onyekuru, says the team will be ruthless in attack when they take on Seychelles in Saturday’s 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying match.
The Galatasaray forward is pushing for his first start in the team after his impressive display in training ahead of the game.
“The game here is the most important, not just for me, but also the team. We are looking forward to playing a good game and to also make the country proud with a win,” the 21 year old told the media in Seychelles.
“We need to score a lot of goals, we never can tell how that will play out at the end when we look ahead to the next game next month.
“Victory here in Seychelles is important.”
Onyekuru has made two substitute appearances since he made his debut in a friendly win over Togo in June 2017.
Nigeria are currently third in the Group E of AFCON 2019 qualifiers without a point after losing their first game, 2-0 at home to South Africa in June last year.
On the UEFA Chmapions League draw, the 20 year old believes that the wealth of experience of Galatasaray in the competition will see them advance from their group.
Galatasaray are drawn in Group D alongside Locomotiv Moscow, FC Porto and Schalke 04.
“When I saw the draw I was happy, not just because the group is fair but I’m looking forward to playing against my brothers Chidozie Awaziem (FC Porto) and Byran Idowu(Lokomotiv Moscow).
“Not like last season when I was at Anderletch where we faced PSG and Bayern. It was tough, now with Galatasary now have enough experience and I believe we will go far.”
Onyekuru has scored two goals in four games for the Turkish Super Lig champions in the current season.
