Super Eagles and RSC Anderlecht striker Henry Onyekuru has opened up on his daily training routine after he helped his club to a 1-0 win over KV Oostende in the Belgian Super Cup on Sunday, Completesportnigeria.com reports.
The Nigerian winger told RSC Anderlecht TV on the importance of his training, describing it as key to success to his fitness and injury free campaign at the club.
The former Eupen striker said the strength recovery training programme is essential to keep him in top shape after every football match and more importantly put him in the right frame of mind before the club' next game.
"Normally, after match day you relax the body, it depend on how long you play; if you play lesser you train normally, but if you play more time you relax because normally your body is tired. That is why I am here to relax the body and get ready for the next trainings for the week, Onyekuru told Anderlecht TV.
“After relaxing, I do couple of movement of the body and drink water also, and then I will be ready for training."
The 20-year-old forward completed a move to Everton for a transfer fee of £7 million and the English club subsequently farmed out the Super Eagles new invitee on loan to the Belgian champions for the rest of the season.
The Aspire Academy apprentice product arrived to link up with his new teammates and straight away was handed jersey No 9 for the season. He scored on his first game for Anderlecht in a pre-season 2-0 win over second division Belgian side Lierse SK.
The Toffees, who beat the likes of Arsenal and West Ham United for the signature of Onyekuru, had to send out the forward on loan for the rest of the season on the advice of their manager Ronald Koeman.
Onyekuru is fast becoming a central figure at Anderlecht with his impressive impact, including helping the club to win the Belgian Super Cup.Copyright © 2020 Completesports.com All rights reserved.
