Onyekuru Pleased To Score First Galatasaray Goal

By Johnny Edward:

Super Eagles striker, Henry Onyekuru, is delighted to be Galatasaray’s match winner on Sunday after he fired his first goal for the club in his second start for the club, reports Completesportsnigeria.com.

Onyekuru joined Galatasaray on a season loan deal from Everton and scored his first Turkish Super League for the club in their 1-0 win over Goztepe.

Onyekuru lobbed the onrushing goalkeeper for his first league goal of the season after he latched on to a pass from his teammate.

“Delighted to get on the scoresheet, but more pleased with the victory! Thanks be to God🙏🏾💛❤️,” Onyekuru tweeted after the game.

Onyekuru will hope to add to his tally next Monday when Galatasaray host Alanyaspor in another league game.

He previously featured for KAS Eupen and Anderlecht in the Belgian Pro division league.

  • And what a goal it was!

Onyekuru actually started the move in his own half with a headed precision pass before timing his run to perfection to meet the delightful through pass and then gloriously lobbed the ball past the hapless goalkeeper from just outside the 18 yard box; beautiful!

I could watch it again and again.

More from where that came from please!

  • This guy is an amazing player with impressive skill set and blistering pace.

Given hos performance with his previous clubs, I at I’ll wonder why Toffees considers him less suitable at Everton or perhaps it’s lack of playing time for Nigeria to earn a work permit.

It’s looking up that he would be a worthy replacement for Victor Moses who has call time on his national team career.

What an amazing player this young lad his.
He’s got incredible football sense, to see him succeed at any club.
His ability to hold his nerve and take important decisions in the final third makes him a great asset for any club side.
What he lacks in big frame, he makes up for in great speed and flair.
I hope he remains injury free and keeps scoring.

He is truly a great player. He cannot play for Everton now because of work permit issues. He has not played enough games for the Super Eagles to make him eligible for a British work permit.
If he had appeared at the world cup in Russia it would have helped him with the permit.

I watched the goal over and over again! Albeit, am not surprised because I had always noticed that he has it in him in abundance.
He along with Samuel KALU and Simon moses and Tosin are true and worthy replacement for the outgoing Victor moses if always utilized well. All these aforementioned players can start from 11 or 7 and they have goals ratio too along with skills and sublime passes…. Hope Nigeria avoid Fifa once again.
