Peter Odemwingie is in line to play his first game of the season for Stoke City in Saturday’s home fixture against Leicester City, reports completesportsnigeria.com.
The Nigerian striker who impressed for the Potters in pre-season has been hampered with hamstring trouble in recent weeks.
The 34-year old returned to training last week with Stoke City manager, Mark Hughes, stating that he will not be rushed back into action.
But with top striker Mame Diouf struggling with a hamstring injury that could sideline him for the game against the Foxes, Hughes may be forced to hand in the talented forward a place on the bench, according to reports in England.
Odemwingie has endured a torrid time since linking up with Stoke City from Cardiff in January 2014.
He suffered a knee ligament injury against Manchester City last season which ruled him out of most of the 2014/2015 campaign.
