–Israel based Eagles defender says it’s re-union with teammates
By Sab Osuji:
Nigeria defender, Juwon Oshaniwa has expressed delight with his inclusion in the 23-man list released by coach Stephen Keshi for the Africa Cup of Nations qualification games against Congo and South Africa next month.
“I’m glad I was considered for the assignments and of course I can only say it’s a happy re-union with my teammates after the World Cup in Brazil”, the Ashdod of Israel star snapped when Complete Sports called him.
Oshaniwa played all games as the Super Eagles cruised to a Round of 16 qualification at the Mundial before falling 0-2 to Les Bleus of France.
“We’re only coming together to continue from where we stopped. We’re the AFCON defending champions and we must work hard to qualify so as to defend our trophy”, he added.
The former Lobi Stars and Sharks of Port Harcourt wing-back reckons the two games will be tough.
“No game is easy, so we’ve to give our 100% to ensure victory.
“Unity and continuity in football is very important and with the two factors which I believe the list signifies, will help us excel in the games.
“Congo and South Africa are strong teams and God on our side, we’ll sail through in the qualifiers”, the Ashdod left-back said.
