–Eagles defender reveals World Cup outing attracting Euro suitors
Super Eagles defender, Juwon Oshaniwa has informed Complete Sports he’s in talks with officials of his Israeli club, Ashdod for a summer transfer.
Oshaniwan who played in all Super Eagles matches at the World Cup in Brazil says he’s being courted by several clubs but is expecting officials of his club to give him the green light.
“The dream is to play in bigger leagues and at the moment several clubs have shown interest in me joining them”, offers the former Sharks of Port Harcourt player from his base in Israel.
“Right now I’m in talks with management of my club trying to convince them.
“But you know its not all in my hands to say because I have two seasons remaining on my current contract”.
He posited that moving to a new club this summer will be nice, saying after the World interest in him by other clubs has grown.
“That’s one of the major gains of playing in the World Cup and its always nice leaving when the ovation is loud, that is, riding on the back of the World Cup to achieve a summer move which is a plus in my career”.
The 24-year-old refused to disclose names of the clubs interested in his signature.
Prior to his departure in 2012 for Ashdod of Israel, Oshaniwa had starred for Kwara United, Lobi Stars and Sharks all in the Nigeria top flight.
He has 11 caps so far for Nigeria senior national team, Super Eagles.
