Super Falcons pair of Asisat Oshoala and Rasheedat Ajibade are confident that the reigning African Women’s Cup of Nations champions will qualify for the semi-finals of the tournament, reports Completesportsnigeria.com.
The Super Falcons bounced back from their 1-0 loss to the Banyana Banyana of South Africa in their first Group B match to smash Zambia 4-0.
Despite the huge win, the Super Falcons must beat Equatorial Guinea and hope Zambia doesn’t record a win over South Africa in their final group game.
“We are looking forward to the next game with good expectations,” Oshoala told CSN.
Ajibade who bagged her first goal of the tournament in the Super Falcons’ 4-0 win over Zambia believes that the Falcons have overcome their initial setback and are ready to conquer Africa again.
“We have found our rhythm and confidence again. We are confidently looking forward to the next game to win it,” Ajibade added in a brief chat with CSN.
The Super Falcons are now second in Group B with three points from two games, three points adrift leaders South Africa who top the group with six points.
Zambia are third despite having the same points with the Super Falcons but with an inferior goal difference of +1.
Equatorial Guinea without a point from two games are rock bottom of the group.
