Oshoala was brought on in the 70th minute for Natalia Pablos by hosts Arsenal Ladies.

It was Oshoala’s ninth appearance in the league without a goal.

Fara Williams put Arsenal Ladies in front when she scored in the ninth minute with a fierce drive from 20 yards.

Van de Sanden made it 1-1 in the 21st minute as she fired into the top corner.

With 20 minutes remaining, Oshoala was introduced for Pablos.

And in the 77th minute, Liverpool took the lead through Caroline Weir.

Oshoala almost equalised for Arsenal Ladies on 84 minutes but couldn’t turn in Alex Scott’s low cross.

The Super Falcons star came close again in the 90th minute but saw her goal bound effort blocked.

The defeat leaves the Arsenal Ladies six points adrift of league leaders Manchester City with five games left to play.

Their next game comes up against Notts County away next Sunday.
