Nigeria forward, Asisat Oshoala, has expressed a mixture of disappointment and relief after Arsenal Ladies lost 2-1 at home to her former club, Liverpool Ladies, in the Football Association Women’s Super League on Sunday.
Oshoala, who was making a return to the Arsenal Ladies side following an injury setback, was introduced for Natalia Pablos in the 70th minute.
The game was Oshoala’s ninth appearance in the league without a goal.
Reacting to the defeat, Oshoala stated that she is recuperating from the injuries that ruled her out of action in some games.
“Not the result we wanted but happy to be back in the game with few minutes under my belt. Hamstring and ankles feel better today,” she wrote on her Twitter handle.
The Super Falcons star will hope to get another game under her belt and open her goal account for the season when Arsenal Ladies visit Notts County Ladies on Sunday.
