–Falcons star says her dream came through in Namibia
Most Valuable Player at the just concluded CAF Africa Women’s Championship (AWC) in Namibia, Asisat Oshoala has described the AWC win as a dream come true.
Oshoala, who also finished as the Most Valuable Player at the last FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup, says winning the MVP in Namibia has shown that her feat in Canada was no fluke.
“I feel very happy about it and it’s just like a dream come true for me,” said Oshoala.
“I had the intention that I wanted to come to this competition to prove to myself that what I did at the U-20 was not a fluke, and that I would do better in this competition and I’m happy I was able to achieve that.”
The highly rated forward also talked about her excitement at the rate of her improvement and says she appreciates the effort she has put in so far.
“I really appreciate my effort because it’s a sign of improvement for me because I came out as the MVP at the U20 level and have done the same at the senior level and I fell happy about it,” she said.
