Veteran tennis star, Funke Oshonaike says she is proud to bear the Nigeria flag during the colorful opening ceremony of the11th All Africa Games Friday night here in Congo Brazzaville, reports Completesportsnigeria.com.
Oshonaike, who revealed she has participated in seven All Africa Games bore the huge green-white-green flag of Nigeria as the large contingent of Team Nigeria took their turn during the march past at the official opening ceremony of the Congo Brazzaville 2015 All Africa Games inside the Stade de I'Unite, Kintele Sports Complex on Friday night.
"I'm so proud to bear the Nigeria flag, I am proud to be a Nigerian and I'm happy to be part of the Team Nigeria contingent for this All Africa Games," the fair skinned tennis star said.
The athletic build ping pong ace revealed the All Africa Games now going on in Congo is her seventh in her career but has lost count of the gold medal she has won in her previous participations.
"This is my seventh All Africa Games outing and I'm happy. How many gold medals I've won in the past editions? Honestly, I cannot remember, I have lost count because they are too many," Oshonaike told Completesportsnigeria.com here in Congo Brazzaville
