Nigeria's U-20 side, the Flying Eagles, defeated the country's U-23 team 4-3 in a highly entertaining friendly match at the Abuja National Stadium on Saturday, reports Completesportsnigeria.com.
The Flying Eagles led 3-1 at the break through goals by Orji Okonkwo, who bagged a brace, and Samuel Chukwueze, while Godwin Saviour scored the U-23 Eagles' only goal of the half.
Portugal-based midfielder, Oghenekaro Etebo, pulled a goal back for the U-23s after resumption.
Emmanuel Amuneke-led Flying Eagles restored their two-goas lead courtesy of a beautiful header by Victor Osimhen, who has scored in virtually every game he has played, few minutes after Etebo's strike.
Shehu Abdullahi reduced the deficit late in the game for Samson Siasia's men.
The Flying Eagles will face Sudan in the first leg of the 2017 Africa U-20 Nations Cup final round qualifying fixture on July 8.
The U-23 Eagles who will represent the country in the football event of the Rio 2016 Olympics will depart the country next week for a final training camp in the United States of America ahead of the Games.
