Napoli have confirmed they are interested in bringing in Arsenal goalkeeper David Ospina but say they do have other options. The Gunners are looking to offload the Colombia international this summer after he slipped to third choice in the pecking order at the Emirates Stadium off the back of the arrival of Bernd Leno from Bayer Leverkusen.
Ospina has been linked with several clubs, including Turkish duo Besiktas and Fenerbahce, while Napoli president Aurelio de Laurentiis has confirmed the Italians are also in the mix for his signature.
The Serie A outfit are on the lookout for a new goalkeeper after summer signing Alex Meret broke his arm, and De Laurentiis admits Ospina could be the man to replace him.
De Laurentiis told Radio Kiss Kiss Napoli: “There are four in contention: [Guillermo] Ochoa, Mignolet, Ospina and [Ciprian] Tatarusanu. It is true that Ospina could arrive, we are negotiating, there are still some differences on the requests.”
Ospina might not be the only Gunner making the switch from north London to Italy this summer with forward Joel Campbell undergoing a medical with Serie A side Frosinone.
