Arsenal star Mesut Ozil clashed with furious Germany fans following their shock exit at the Russia 2018 FIFA World Cup on Wednesday.
After giving themselves a lifeline with the stunning comeback win against Sweden, Germany needed an outright victory against South Korea to advance to the round of 16.
But the reigning world champions surprisingly lost 2-0 to South Korea which saw them end bottom of Group F with one win and two losses.
The 2014 champions suffered the heartbreak of first round elimination at the World Cup finals for the first time since the 1938 edition in France.
And according to The Mirror, as the players walked off the pitch, fans close to the tunnel area vented their anger at them.
Ozil, 29, hit back at the vocal abuse, causing him to be restrained by another member of the German backroom staff.
Aside from Ozil who was hitting back, a German coach was also seen shouting back towards the fans, who are being restrained by stewards on the steps.
