Arsenal star Mesut Ozil has been forced to shell out hugely to settle a lawsuit brought to the German courts by his father Mustafa in the latest crisis rocking the Turkish-born family.
Ozil was taken to court by his dad after the Gunners star sacked him as managing director of marketing company Ozil Marketing GmbH last year.
Mustafa claimed his son owed him about £493,000 in lost earnings because of the sacking, and he initially refused to pay out.
Ozil has now reached a settlement with his dad on the matter, but Mustafa, who organised his son’s transfer to Arsenal, has been replaced as Mesut’s representative by brother Mutlu Ozil.
Mesut recently separated with his girlfriend, Mandy Capristo, who accused the Arsenal star of cheating on her.
