Passport Renewal Hitch Costs Agu Eagles Call Up For Poland, Serbia Friendlies

By Johnny Edward: Facts have emerged on the reason  Bursaspor midfielder, Mikel Agu, was left out of the Super Eagles’ 28-man squad for the international friendly games against Poland and Serbia later this month in  Warsaw and England respectively, Completesportsnigeria.com (CSN) reports.

Agu was primed for a return to the squad after he missed Nigeria’s last World Cup qualifying match against Algeria in Constantine and the friendly against Argentina in November, 2017,  but he failed to renew his international passport in time, inability to apply for entry visa into Poland and the United Kingdom from Turkey.

“Mikel Agu needed to renew his passport to apply for entry visa into Poland and the UK, but that didn’t happen,” a close source close to the player told CSN on condition of anonymity.

“The timing for his appointment at both embassies (Polish and UK) in Turkey meant that he won’t make it down to the Poland by the time his UK visa is given.

“But hopefully, he should be considered for the next games.”

Something is wrong with administration at the NFF. Always this passport and visa problems, yet there was enough time to get things sorted out. The players concerned must also wake up, and not cause problems for the country and for their careers

E!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So this passport matter still day exit ???? wonders shall never end ,Hmmmm , Please NFF should do somehting m if passport office only in one state ? why such complain early .
Its s shame in other countries here this , its only hard in Nigeria , you can not hear this in Argentina

  • Better, I want the passport to remain like that till after the World Cup, they guy is not a good player

The Mikel Agu guy is not good enough for the Super Eagles. Passport issue is just an excuse. He should not be in Russia.

Even if he(mikel agu)sorted out his issue of visa on time,he won’t be invited because he is not a good player,l don’t see any body in that list he would have displaced,we are OK the way we are, I only pray for luck on our side.I believe this Russia 2018 will be a memorable history in Nigeria and African football at large.
The players are very thirsty of victory likewise Nigerian fans,as for me I cant wait to see the Super eagles soar above da foes in this world Cup.may the Almighty God give us victory,Amen.

  • @vitalis,Amennnnn!!! Thanks for believing in the SE of Nigeria.

  • Agu is a technical player, He plays like Busquest(Barcelona),He just need to be discipline on making decisive tackles, but I bet you he’s a plus when we need our team to play defensively
