West Ham United boss Manuel Pellegrini insists he took a risk on Jack Wilshere but he believes it has saved the club £100million.
The England international was signed on a free contract in the summer after Arsenal allowed him to leave following a 10-year spell.

His time with the Gunners was marred by injuries and his strong start at the London Stadium was ruined by an ankle problem.
Wilshere has since been on the sidelines for the last three months but Pellegrini believes the club would have had to spend £100milion on a player of the same quality.
“He was a high risk. We knew before he was not a player who would be available for every game, every week, but was a player of a quality that is not easy to bring to West Ham at a price we could afford,” he said.
“Maybe players of the quality of Wilshere at this moment can cost £100m, £90m, £70m. Good creative midfielders are very expensive. “He wanted to play at West Ham, we took the risk and it has not been a good month for him but we have the second part of the season and I hope he will play most part of the games.”Copyright © 2020 Completesports.com All rights reserved.
