Sergio Perez says he is “really motivated for 2019” after Force India retained him for a further year. The Mexican has been with the team since 2014 after joining Force India following a single season with McLaren.
The 28-year-old, who has managed five podiums during his time with Force India, is delighted his future has been resolved and is already looking ahead to the new season.

“I am very happy to finally announce my future and I’m really motivated for 2019,” he told the official Formula One website.
“Force India has been my home since 2014 and has allowed me to grow as a driver and show my skills on track.
“We have achieved so much success in the last five seasons but I think the best is yet to come. The new investment the team is enjoying fills me with confidence and I am really excited about the future.”
The other seat at Force India remains vacant for 2019 but Williams driver Lance Stroll is rated as Perez’s most likely teammate for next season.
