Jordan Pickford believes the Merseyside derby between Everton and Liverpool has to be regarded as one of the biggest in the country. The teams are set to renew rivalries in the Premier League at Anfield on Sunday and both have been in good domestic form.
The Toffees have only lost one of their last seven top-flight games, while Liverpool sit second in the standings and remain unbeaten in the league.
Everton goalkeeper Pickford helped the Toffees secure two draws against their city rivals in the league last season and he believes the derby has to be considered one of the biggest in England. “I think on Sunday, there is an Arsenal-Tottenham game so there are derbies everywhere.
Liverpool-Everton has to be up there as one of the best,” Pickford was quoted as saying by Sky Sports.
Everton will be regarded as underdogs heading into the fixture as they have not won at Anfield since 1999, but Pickford believes Marco Silva’s current side are capable of taking all three points back across Stanley Park.
“I think if we get the win, it’s massive for us, for the fans,” Pickford added. “In the league, there are a lot of games to be played. We have good momentum going into the game and that’s always nice.”Fastest Paying Betting Site in Nigeria: Grab your 140% First Time Deposit Bonus Now — www.Sportybet.Com Copyright © 2021 Completesports.com All rights reserved.
