Kano Pillars and Enyimba both got knocked out in the round of 32 of this year’s Federation Cup on Wednesday.

Pillars who are the current Glo Premier League champions, lost 4-2 on penalties to Plateau United, after regulation time ended 0-0.

Federation Cup winners in the last two years, Enyimba, crashed out of the competition after also losing 3-1 on penalties to second-tier side Remo Stars. It was 1-1 in 120 minutes of football.

In a fixture which saw two NPFL sides squaring up against each other, Heartland edged out Sharks 1-0, while Rangers thrashed Kukuruku FC 3-0.

In other results, Prime FC advanced 5-3 via penalty shootout (both teams played 1-1 during 120 minutes), Kwara United had to also rely on spot kicks to see off ABU 5-3, while Lobi pipped Niger Tournadoes by a lone goal.
