Defending champions Kano Pillars have climbed to the top of the league table after defeating Bayelsa United 1-0 in a rescheduled Globacom Nigeria Professioanl Football League fixture.
A 31st minute strike by Gambo Mohammed was enough for the champions to go top of the table with a game in hand.
In Umuahia, Abia Warriors thrashed Nembe City 4-0 to climb to the third position. Peter Onyekachi scored in the 28the minute (penalty) and in the 51st minute. Jackson Daniel made it three 10 minutes later before Onyekachi scored his hat-trick in the 87 minutes.
Bayelsa United who are on 21 points as Kaduna United are now overtaken by the northern side on goals difference, while Nembe City are rooted to the bottom with 16 points.
