Amaju Pinnick and Chris Giwa have been in a running battle for the past four years on who is the recognised President of the NFF.

The Jos City court stated Monday that it will sit on August 1 for hearing of the motion to vacate its previous orders granting recognition to Giwa to lead the NFF while invalidating the process that brought in Pinnick as the soccer governing body’s president.

Pinnick is the recognized President of the NFF by FIFA and incidentally, he is also the Vice-president of the Confederation of African Football while Giwa is not recognised by FIFA as he is serving a ban.

He also lost the case with Pinnick at the Court of Arbitration for Sport, which is the highest adjudicator in sporting matters.

Pinnick’s lawyers had filed a counter-motion to dismiss the orders, and the court adjourned till August 1, for hearing of their plea.

The four year-old case is expected to be resolved at the Federal High Court in Jos, Plateau State today after several adjournments.

Meta Description:

I think the Nigerian court is the problem, failing to adhere to fifa laws and not concerned that Nigeria is an affiliate of fifa has made things complicated and embarrassing as how Nigeria is seen in the global world of football.
This court should save us all this chaos which has cost us in many ways.
Giwa is baned by fifa and has no legitimacy to that position which he seeks. Is that too hard for the judge to know this?
I wonder what kind of relentless man is Giwa who doesn’t know when it’s over.
Apparently he’s fighting a lost battle and he knows this.
My point is this court can save us the day.It can save us this uncertainties and bring back stability in the football house because for success there needs to be placid in leadership.
    God bless Nigeria.

Even if Giwa wins he has been banned by fifa so what sense does it make?

Useless country. Judicial system corrupt. Hissing. The anti he’ll with you.

  • Useless country foolish people

  • You re a foolish man Giwa, you don’t want the development of this country you and onigbinde may god punish both of you

  • I have gone through the whole start of this Pinnick vs Giwa international match. I sincerely sympathize with Chris Giwa. This whole thing started when Giwa won an election conducted in Abuja but was annulled for some reasons. For no reason it was moved to Asaba, Delta state, the home state of Pinnick which was then governed by Emmanuel Uduaghan. Uduaghan is married to the elder sister of Amaju Pinnick. Same mother same father!!!!! It was said that the election was heavily rigged to allow Pinnick be the NFF president. So Giwa is heavily aggrieved. He is pursuing this with all his little strength left. He has lost his club. He is banned from football by FIFA. So I sincerely sympathize with him but he is over doing it. He has lost the public’s sympathy and he is the number one football family enemy. Giwa does not care. Presidency or the President or DSS does not concern him. He does not care if the country is banned it not. If Amaju Pinnick ends his tenure and seek for reelection, the battle does not end. It will continue. If another person wins, Giwa will still go to court claiming he has not served his tenure. The only move us to arrest him and detain him. Will any government do that? Until he takes his 4years NFF presidency, the battle continues until ‘justice’is given. To Giwa.

You do realize the election that was supposedly won by Giwa wasn’t a FIFA sanctioned and approved election. You can’t hold a FIFA Office position without winning a FIFA approved election! My Lord.. Please let’s use the common sense that was given to most of us. Do your due deligence before writing and publishing.

@djeniko I disagree with you unless You tell us the reason why election giwa won in Abuja was annulled and the reason why election pinnick won in asaba was genuine. Your prove is not enough to conclude that pinnick rigged election whereas abuja election was not supurvisrd by fifa.
