Pinnick To Home Eagles: Win CHAN Trophy For President Buhari

The Nigeria Football Federation President Amaju Pinnick has charged the Home Eagles to win the African Nations Championship (CHAN) trophy for President Muhammadu Buhari, Completesportsnigeria.com reports.

The Nigerians face host nation Morocco in the final on Sunday in Casablanca.

Pinnick met with the players and commended them after their semi-final win over Sudan in Marrakech on Wednesday. But the big message was that they could not afford to go this far only to go down to the host country.

“On behalf of the NFF Executive Committee and the entire Nigerian football family, I praise you for your tremendous efforts in getting this far in the face of numerous challenges. You are great ambassadors of our dear nation,” Pinnick said in a press release from the NFF.

“However, the truth is that you have raised the expectations of the Government and people of Nigeria back home, and now you just have to do all that it will take to win the Cup. President Muhammadu Buhari (GCFR) has been following with keen interest your campaign here, and the only way to compensate him for his support and encouragement is to go back home with the CHAN trophy.”

Nigeria drew with Rwanda in their opening match in Tangier on 15th January, but have since achieved victories over 2014 champions Libya, Equatorial Guinea, Angola and Sudan to qualify for their first ever final inside the Stade Mohamed V in Casablanca on Sunday evening.

In 19 previous encounters between both countries at senior level, Morocco edge the record with eight wins, with Nigeria winning seven times and four matches drawn.

People be positive and pray for your country Nigeria would win by God’s grace. Inshah Allah

  • @Cj, you have started again o. I thought you will point out the area of Amaju Pinnick’s statement that is “cast a spell. Amaju Pinnick is the present President of NFF if you have forgotten. If the Eagles win, it will be s plus to him and his board. Already the NFF board have being getting a lot of praise for the way they are running the federation. We have never had it so good. Former NFF board have been hoodwinking Nigerians. This NFF look transparent. Because of their transparency, many are willing to associate with the federation and so many sponsorship deals are being signed. Are you not following the doings of the present NFF? I think it is you that is casting spell on the Eagles. You are saying ” the game is as good as lost.” If you are a Moroccan, you are forgiven because no Moroccan will wish the Eagles success in Morocco. That doesn’t mean that Nigeria cannot win because you said so. It is a 50/50 game. But @Cj, if you are a Nigerian and you are casting a spell on your national team, know that you have just committed a treasonable offence. A citizen going against the interest of your own country is treasonable offence. I believe the wish of 179,999,999 Nigerians’ wishes will overshadow your spell. There is only one thing you should do now. Leave this wickedness and apologize to Nigerians. Say it was a mistake and that you wish the Eagles all the best. Even those Nigerians who will predict that Morocco will win Nigeria because of their wanting to get CSN 5000 naira are still in support of the Eagles. Their case is different from your. Their case is like if Brazil wants to play Nigeria and the winners will be sponsored to America, many Nigerians will predict Brazil win. Because of the prize. Your case is that you are casting a spell. So apology is needed and do it before the commencement of the game. You are on your own o.

Buhari don’t like football they are forcing him by all means to like soccer, that is why he Is still putting on the same clothes he wore when Nigeria played camaroun during the World Cup qualifiers, allow this man to rest. Don’t provoke the boys with the name buhari please.

  • @djch
That name he mentioned is very divisive,it connotes different things to different Nigerians depending on your class, tribe or region; If you are from the 5%, you know your lot, if you are from the 97%, great for you, if you are from Venue, Taraba, Southern kaduna; you are less than a cow and a slave.

  • @djch
Did you say something about treason, I completely missed that.
Tell Buahari that voting against his countryman Mr. Peter Onu in favour of a Fulani man from Niger republic for OAU Sec. General in 1984, is “patrotism” , wait a second, “TREASON”?
I come here to feel at home, relax and forget the sorrows that these evil, wicked and godless politician put us through.
It’s soccer patriotism that brings me here not politcs.

Pls. Let’s make here a politics free zone.

  • @Cj, just because Amaju Pinnick says he wants the CHAN Eagles to win it for Buhari, that is why you cast a spell on the Eagles? I don’t know your age, but mature people outgrow such mentality. Ok, let’s reason together. Whether you like it or not, Buhari is the President of Nigeria. He is representing Nigeria in the United Nation. Until he is no more there, he remains the recognized head of Nigeria. Number one citizen. Why tie yourself with such mundane issues. Who finances the Eagles? Buhari. Who pays Amaju Pinnick? Buhari. Who is number one civil servant under who Amaju Pinnick is working under? Buhari. So who do you think he should dedicate the trophy to? The person representing Nigeria who unfortunately is again, Buhari. We have more pressing issues affecting people all over the world!!! Sickness/diseases. Poverty. Housing. Education. Family breakdown. Crime. Security. Coruption. Worse of all Death. It is a no issue who is the head of state. No one or government can solve any of the above. Why don’t you be less worried about a name and enjoy the game that is to be played. Another issue will even hit you after. If Nigeria should loss the match, you may falsely claim that your spell worked. If you have a conscience, you may not sleep for a week for you may be blaming yourself for this misfortune. The sadness of millions of Nigerians will seem to be caused by you. If Nigeria should win tomorrow, and if you are that bent on that your spell succeeding, you will be sad and I am afraid you may do some harm to yourself or harm to another person. This is how people give reason to commit suicide or mass kill. Again you will not enjoy the match. How will you enjoy a match that you cast a spell on? So @Cj, take style apologize to Nigerians and free your mind from any consequences of your action. Any team can win. Morocco will be assisted by CAF to win the tournament as HOST country. The referees will be specially selected and instructed to do anything to ease it for Morocco. Nigeria can win the match too. What will the referee do if we score 2 goals with long range shots? He cannot cancel it but record it. Morocco can score from offside and it is allowed. So it is a 50/50 win/loss situation for both teams. Why don’t you enjoy the game and stop disturbing yourself with unnecessary things.
