Former Arsenal man Robert Pires feels the club are in good hands under new boss Unai Emery.
Pires was a key member of the famous ‘Invincibles’ under Arsene Wenger and has kept a keen eye on the Gunners following the Spaniard’s appointment to the Emirates hot-seat.
After missing out on the top four last term, Europa League football is Arsenal’s refuge for the second straight season and Thursday sees them take on Azeri outfit Qarabag.
Emery is an expert in Europe’s second-tier competition, winning the competition three times in a row while at Sevilla.
Although there have been teething problems under the former Paris Saint-Germain coach, 1998 World Cup winner Pires believes the team are in good hands under the 46-year-old.
Pires said: “It’s very difficult for me to compare. With Arsene Wenger it was very good. Unfortunately this page is finished so we need to focus on the present and prepare for the future.
“The present for Arsenal, especially for the fans is to be passionate with Unai Emery.
“Of course he won with Sevilla and he won with Paris Saint-Germain, but this is a new challenge for him. It’s a new team, a new club, new football and the Premier League is more competitive.
“Maybe it will be difficult in the beginning but I think he can make a success with Arsenal. I believe in him.”Fastest Paying Betting Site in Nigeria: Grab your 140% First Time Deposit Bonus Now — www.Sportybet.Com Copyright © 2021 Completesports.com All rights reserved.
