Platini Joins Race For FIFA Presidency

UEFA President Michel Platini has announced he will stand for the FIFA presidency.

The former France international confirmed on Wednesday that he wants to take over from Sepp Blatter.

Blatter has been in charge since 1998 but is set to quit as a result of the ongoing corruption crisis.

Platini will stand in the general election for Blatter’s replacement, which takes place on February 26 next year, and will be one of the favourites to become the world’s No1 football man.
If ex-France and Juventus superstat Platini wins, he would become the first former prominent footballer to head FIFA.

  • My fear has always being that AFRICA, Asia, and North America may not host the WC for a long time if BLATTER is voted out or resigns/step-aside. It is going to happen with Platini as FIFA head. He looks like a racist. He looks corrupt too. Anyway lets watch and see.
