Pochettino Facing Selection Problems

Mauricio Pochettino is without five first-team players for Tottenham’s Champions League clash at Inter Milan on Tuesday. England international Dele Alli and fellow midfielder Moussa Sissoko have been ruled out of the Group B opener with hamstring problems, whilst goalkeeper Hugo Lloris remains out with a thigh issue.

To make matters worse for Spurs, defensive duo Kieran Trippier and Toby Alderweireld have not travelled with the squad and Pochettino will have to shake things up at the back for the clash at the San Siro.

Ivorian Serge Aurier is expected to fill in at right-back whilst Davison Sanchez, who was an unused substitute in the 2-1 loss to Liverpool on Saturday, will come into the heart of defence alongside Jan Vertonghen.

Son Heung-Min is also pushing for a recall after making an impact when coming off the bench against the Reds, with Lucas Moura potentially dropping out of the starting 11.

Tottenham have only won one of their previous eight visits to Italy and Tuesday night will be the first competitive meeting between the two sides since 2013.
