Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino says he is happy with his squad despite their lack of activity in the transfer market.
With the transfer window in England set to close at 5pm, on Thursday, Spurs are the only Premier League club that have failed to add to their squad, while they look set to miss out on long-term target Jack Grealish.
Spurs have managed to keep hold of all of their top players, with the likes of Harry Kane, Son Heung-min and Erik Lamela all signing new deals over the summer
Pochettino insists he is pleased with how his squad is shaping up.
“I am happy to keep all the squad together, there were many rumours during the summer about players out,” the 46-year-old said. “The club made a massive effort to try and extend contracts of Harry Kane, just one example.”
Tottenham are set to move into their new stadium during the 2018-19 campaign and Pochettino has indicated that is one of the main reasons they have had a quiet transfer window.
“The club is trying to finish the stadium as soon as possible,” he added. “It is difficult to understand for people in football that Tottenham didn’t sign or didn’t sell players, but sometimes in football you need to behave different.”Copyright © 2020 Completesports.com All rights reserved.
