Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino does not expect any of his players to leave the club over the next few weeks. The English transfer window may have closed over two weeks ago but clubs on the continent can still buy players, with the likes of Danny Rose, Toby Alderweireld and Mousa Dembele all linked with moves away from north London.
Pochettino is not concerned by such speculation and is confident his current squad will still be intact at the end of the summer.
“I am working like if all the players will still be here,” he said at his news conference on Friday. “I cannot work thinking if they are going to be here tomorrow or not. Not only these names [but] different names.”
The 46-year-old did indicate that if the right offer came in then there is still the possibility the club would sanction a move but it would have to be in the interest of all parties.
“Maybe tomorrow [Saturday] or this afternoon an offer arrives, [and] we will consider it,” he added. “You are focused on different names but we are focused on trying and taking the best decision to provide them the opportunity to play if they deserve [to].”
