Ambassador Chris Giwa's move to take over as President of the Nigeria Football Federation on Friday evening was thwarted by men of the Nigeria Police Force on,  reports Completesportsnigeria.com.

The proprietor of Nigeria Professional Football League side, Giwa Football Club of Jos, stormed the NFF's Glass House around 4.20pm with some of his cohorts.

He went around the offices speaking with some staffs of the secretariat, intimating them of his decision to actualise his mandate.

Giwa, Completesportsnigeria.com can report,  was however checkmated by the  Divisional Police Officer of the Wuse Zone 3 police station and his men.

Giwa was later whisked away to the station by the DPO and some of his men following a brief discussion.

Before leaving the secretariat, Giwa promised to take over as the new president of the NFF on Monday.

It would be recalled Giwa recently got an injunction  from a Jos high- court for the removal of current president, Amaju Pinnick, citing that the election that brought him into power and the board was faulty.

The Pinnick led board  has also appealed against the court decision, while world soccer govering body,  Federation of International Football Association (FIFA)  has also issued a stern warning that any attempt to remove Pinnick from office through the  law court in Nigeria will lead to a ban of the country from international competitions.
