Despite his team’s hard-fought 1-0 win against Morocco in Group B of the 2018 FIFA World Cup on Wednesday, Portugal coach Fernando Santos said his team would have to improve in their performance.
A Cristiano Ronaldo fourth minute goal, earned Portugal their first win and his fourth goal so far in the tournament.
Morocco who bossed most part of the game but could not convert the chances that came their way, became the first team to crash out of this year’s World Cup. They lost 1-0 to Iran in their first group game.
“It’s a World Cup. This is a strong team, as were Morocco, but we have to grow,” Santos said in his post-match press conference.
“We did well defensively, and we played well, but we need more than that. We have to change and earn more possession.”
The 2016 European Championshiop winning coach with Portugal, went on to hail Ronaldo for his impressive performance.
“Cristiano is like a Port wine. He knows how to refine his capacity and age at his best. He is constantly evolving, contradictorily to the other players. He knows himself and he knows what he can do. What he does now is not what he did three or four years ago, and not what he will be doing in a few years from now.”Fastest Paying Betting Site in Nigeria: Grab your 140% First Time Deposit Bonus Now — www.Sportybet.Com Copyright © 2021 Completesports.com All rights reserved.
