Peterborough boss Steve Evans has confirmed the club have agreed to a deal to take Cardiff’s Lee Tomlin on loan in January.
Bluebirds boss Neil Warnock has frozen Tomlin out of his first-team plans since his return from a loan spell at Nottingham Forest last term, failing to register the playmaker in his 25-man Premier League squad.
Several clubs expressed an interest in Tomlin during the summer but he failed to find a new home and has yet to make a competitive appearance in any competition for Cardiff in the current campaign.

However, Peterborough have now offered Tomlin the chance to get his career back on track and the ex-Middlesbrough and Bristol City man has been training with the League One side ahead of officially joining on loan when the January transfer window opens.
Speaking to Peterborough Today about the deal for Tomlin, Evans said: “What a Christmas present for us all. “Lee was a great player for Peterborough United and he went to play well for other clubs at Championship level.
“We have today reached an agreement with Cardiff to take him on loan until the end of the season as soon as the transfer window opens.
“We will need to work on his match fitness, but he looked in great shape physically today and some of the things he did in training suggest he will be a great signing for us.”Copyright © 2020 Completesports.com All rights reserved.
