Paris Saint-Germain are sweating on the fitness of Neymar after he limped out of the 2-2 draw with Bordeaux on Sunday afternoon. The Brazilian grabbed the opening goal of the game, but was forced to come off in the second half after suffering a recurrence of a groin injury that has troubled him in the past.
Boss Thomas Tuchel spoke of his frustration and immediately ruled him out of the game with Strasbourg on Wednesday night despite the fact they have yet to learn the full extent of the injury.
Team-mate Thiago Silva is also keeping his fingers crossed and hopes he will not be on the sidelines for long. “Neymar? We don’t know if it’s serious. But you know the guy, he doesn’t like to leave a game so if he does, there has to be something. I don’t know what he has,” Silva told reporters. “He has to undergo a test and then we’ll tell you because you’re curious. I think even the doctor isn’t sure yet, but you’ll know [Monday].”
